On October 8, 2015, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan released the latest version of the standard J60335-1 (H27) for home appliances, which is based on IEC 60335-1:2010 and adds local differences in Japan. The new standard was implemented on December 1, 2015. It is selected and used according to the J60335-2 part of the special standard. The transition period is three years. After November 30, 2018, when a new version of the special standard part is launched, home appliances must be re-certified with J60335-1 (H27) before they can be sold in the Japanese market. |
